The disposable inflatable anesthesia mask is the most commonly used anesthesia equipment in anesthesiology departments. During anesthesia and surgery, patients are typically administered oxygen through the mask, which serves to supply oxygen, eliminate nitrogen, and increase oxygen reserves for the body.
Structural Composition:
Constructed from medical-grade polyvinyl chloride (without plasticizers), silicone rubber, and ABS plastic materials, it is designed for single-use and is a non-sterile product. It comprises an air cushion, hooks, a mask body, a one-way valve, and connectors.
Primary Functions:
Oxygen Supply:
Prior to intravenous general anesthesia intubation, the mask is placed over the patient's nose and mouth to allow them to inhale high-flow pure oxygen, known as pre-oxygenation. This increases the oxygen content in the patient's lungs, providing ample time for successful intubation.
Additionally, during short surgeries where patients undergo intravenous anesthesia, the mask can be used to assist spontaneous breathing by administering oxygen.
In case of emergencies such as respiratory distress, the mask can be used for pressurized oxygen delivery, establishing a temporary artificial airway to buy time for resuscitation efforts.
Anesthesia Administration:
When administering inhalational general anesthesia, the mask covers the patient's nose and mouth, enabling high concentrations of oxygen and anesthetic agents to be inhaled, thereby achieving the purpose of anesthesia delivery.
Scope of Application:
The mask can be used in conjunction with anesthesia machines, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, high-pressure oxygen cylinders, inhalation-based painless delivery systems, and also with emergency resuscitation equipment (such as ambu bags). It is suitable for application in anesthesiology departments, respiratory medicine departments, and emergency departments.
