Closed Suctioning System

Trifanz closed suctioning system is available for 24 hour or 72 hour usage depending on patient requirements. There are two length options to allow attachment to either endotracheal tube (long length 600mm)or tracheostomy tubes (short length 305mm).

Product Introduction

Closed suctioning system enables a clinician to clear the lungs of secretions whilst maintaining ventilation and minimizing contamination with the least possible disruption to the patient.

FAQ

Q: What are the advantages of a closed suction system?

A: The suggested advantages of CTSS compared to conventional OTSS are: improved oxygenation; decreased clinical signs of hypoxemia; maintenance of positive end-expiratory pressure; limited environmental, personnel and patient contamination; and smaller loss of lung volume.

Q: How long can an adult patient be suctioned at one time?

A: After inserting the catheter the measured distance initiate suctioning as you retract the catheter in a sweeping motion. Do not suction too long! The maximum suction time should only be 15 seconds. After suctioning, re-oxygenate the patient.
