Closed Suction Catheter

Closed Suction Catheter

Trifanz Closed Suction Catheter, manufactured at our source factory in China. Featuring a closed-circuit sleeve design, it allows suctioning without disconnecting the ventilator tubing, effectively maintaining positive airway pressure and reducing the risk of patient hypoxia. At the same time, it significantly minimizes the escape of droplets and aerosols, ensuring the safety of clinical healthcare personnel. Available in a full range of sizes to meet the needs of patients of all ages, the product is easy to use and ready for immediate deployment. It has obtained registration and certification from China’s NMPA and multiple other countries, ensuring full compliance and official listing. Manufactured in Chuanfangzhi’s own GMP-certified cleanroom facilities, the product offers consistent quality across batches and supports OEM/ODM customization. Product Advantages And Features

The infection rate is relatively low; It is designed to reduce trauma and provides maximum suction; It is more effective in removing phlegm than using disposable catheters.

The Type Of Product

Material: PVC
Type: 24H/72H
Size: 6-16FR

The Application Of The Product

Closed suction catheters (CSC) have been used in intensive care units (ICU) for many years to remove bronchial secretions from patients undergoing tracheal intubation. The closed system allows to keep the Positive End Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) constant during the aspiration maneuver, reducing arterial desaturation and cerebral deoxygenation and speeding up the stabilization of vital parameters.

FAQ

Q: What is a closed suction catheter used for?

A: Closed suction catheters (CSC) for removal of bronchial secretions in intubated patients have been used in intensive care units (ICU) for many years.

Q: Why is closed suctioning better?

A: During suctioning with closed suctioning system, mechanical ventilation support is continuous and this would maintain PEEP with minimal changes in FiO2. This avoids lung volume loss, with fewer changes occurring in oxygenation and ventilation during suctioning.

Q: What are the benefits of closed suction?

A: The closed suction system maintains PEEP and prevents contamination. Manual ventilation between catheter passes with open suctioning can result in variable tidal volume and barotrauma. The closed system uses the preset ventilator breaths between passes.

Q: What are the advantages of closed suction multiuse catheters?

A: Closed tracheal suction systems which employ multiuse suctioning catheters and let endotracheal suctioning without disconnecting of patient from the ventilator resulting in decreased contamination, maintenance of positive pressure ventilation, and oxygenation.

Q: Can you suction an unresponsive patient?

A: Position patient in semi-Fowler's position with head turned to the side. This facilitates ease of suctioning. Unconscious patients should be in the lateral position.

Q: Why is a closed system good?

A: The most obvious advantage of converting an open system to a closed system is the reduced risk of contamination, which may be especially important for the one-of-a-kind samples used in precision medicine.

Q: How long can an adult patient be suctioned at one time?

A: After inserting the catheter the measured distance initiate suctioning as you retract the catheter in a sweeping motion. Do not suction too long! The maximum suction time should only be 15 seconds. After suctioning, re-oxygenate the patient.

Q: Can you suction mucus out of lungs?

A: Suctioning through an endotracheal or tracheostomy tube allows removal of mucus from the lower respiratory tract, especially in patients who are not conscious and are unable to expel the mucus on their own.

Q: How far do you insert a suction catheter?

A: Suction should only be to the tip of the ETT and should never exceed more than 0.5cm beyond the tip of the ETT, to prevent mucosal irritation and injury. Measurement of length to suction is to be predetermined at shift commencement.

Q: How many times can you use a suction catheter?

A: Suction catheters are to be routinely replaced every 24 hours or at any time if contaminated or blocked by secretions. Suction water/and the container to be replaced every 24 hours.

Q: When should suctioning not be done?

A: Contraindications for Oral Suctioning
Hypoxemia – the most critical to remember!
Trauma – do not do more damage to an already sick patient!
Infection – try to keep it clean when working around mucous membranes!
Cardiac Arrhythmias – watch for signs of increased cardiac workload!"

Q: Which patient would benefit most from a closed suction system?

A: Closed suctioning is recommended in patients who develop severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and are ventilated in the ICU to prevent loss of lung volume and limit environmental, personnel, and patient contamination.

Q: What suction is used in ICU?

A: Suctioning is performed when the patient is unable to effectively move secretions from the respiratory tract. This may occur with excessive production of secretions or ineffective clearance, which leads to the accumulation of secretions in the upper and lower respiratory tract.
